Consultant / Engineer
Kevin Branderhorst is an engineer and consultant with 10 years of experience in the energy industry, including engineering modeling and algorithm development, installation and commissioning of metering equipment, on-site data collection and management, and data science work in SAS. His focus is on program evaluation and related energy studies, with capabilities that span billing regression analysis, performing an independent verification of energy and peak demand savings estimates, designing and managing field data collection projects, data collection quality control, measurement and verification, and engineering-based savings estimation using IPMVP methods for a sample of projects. His experience spans the commercial, agricultural and industrial sector projects and residential programs, and has completed work for ComEd, EmPOWER, the Public Utility Commission of Texas, Interstate Power and Light, NGRID, U.S. DOE and the California Public Utilities Commission. Most recently he has been working with the CPUC performing statewide evaluations, with responsibilities for deemed small/medium commercial measure savings estimation, and database and related calculations supporting the Energy Efficiency Shareholder Incentive Mechanism.
Mr. Branderhorst has B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from San Diego State University.
Kevin lives in San Diego with his cat Boots and fish Karl. In his free time, he enjoys going for long walks on the beach, playing soccer and rock climbing.
